Martial Arts

"Art is the way to the absolute and to the essence of human life.  The aim of art is not the one-sided promotion of spirit, soul and senses, but the opening of all human capacities - thought, feeling, will - to the life rhythm of the world of nature.  So will the voiceless voice be heard and the self be brought into harmony with it."

-Bruce Lee

Martial Arts is a perfect way to develop inner strength, spirit, energy, and focus. The benefits to your life are profound, and will help you meet the dualistic universe of feminine life force energy with presence, power, and purpose.  Strong bodily work with your esoteric breathing and energy work will combine to create an unstoppable force for you to use in your life's deepest offerings.

I practice Jeet Kune Do, the art and style founded by Bruce Lee. I am not a certified Martial Arts instructor, and do not teach Martial Arts (other than the very basics) in my Intensives, but I highly recommend you tune into this artform. There are many different styles and traditions of martial arts and I suggest you take the time to study and see if this powerful art form is something you would like to incorporate into your life as a foundational and elemental part of your practice.

This photo of Bruce Lee has always inspired me. I hope it does the same for you:

Two books I recommend digging into are as follows:

Bruce Lee's Fighting Method - The Complete Edition by Bruce Lee and M. Uyehara - Found on AMAZON - Click HERE.

Tao of Jeet Kune Do -by Bruce Lee - Found on Amazon - Click HERE.

I leave you with this magical quote from Bruce Lee:

I'm moving and not moving at all. I'm like the moon underneath the waves that ever go on rolling and rocking. It is not,  "I am doing this," but rather, an inner realization that "this is happening through me," or "it is doing this for me." The consciousness of self is the greatest hindrance to the proper execution of all physical action.
